Electrónica en Abril 10, Madrid

Electrónica en Abril, held at La Casa Encendida (Madrid), 16, 17 and 18th april 2010, was kind of improvised thanks to our good old friend God Vulcano and those ashes that changed radically our concept of aerodinamics. Artists who could not play because of flight cancellations were Hudson Mohawke, Jon Hopkins, Aoki Takamasa and Guido Möbius. But being fast and diligent old fashioned people we found good alternatives: Cristian Vogel, Jimmy Edgar, Debilorithmicos and V/Vm. Artists that completed the festival together with Emeralds, Oneohtrix Point Never, High Places, Sensational & Spectre and Leyland Kirby/The Caretaker.

Memoirs... Leyland Kirby (picture above) rocking the house as V/Vm together wih his old pad Andy (right?). A good part of the audience got quite annoyed with his show, althougn i dont quite understand why... music should be all about that crazy, hilarious and improvised flow of imagination that they staged... in the process almost injuring themselves. Spain misses you Leyland, please come back to light our fire. A man of virtue, wisdom and humour like no other.

There were many other good moments: Emeralds´ weed hallucinatory music journey, High Places sophisticaded and artesanal (is that possible?) pop, Oneohtrix Point Never killer show, one of the best of the festival...
